A Buck-Boost Converter with Extended Duty-Cycle Range in the Buck Voltage Region for Renewable Energy Sources

Buck-boost DC–DC converters are useful as DC grid interfaces for renewable energy resources. In the classical buck-boost converter, output voltages smaller than input voltage (the buck region) observed duty cycles between 0 and 0.5. Several recent have been designed to present higher gains. Nevertheless, those topologies show a reduced duty-cycle range, leading in region, thus require use of very low achieve lower range voltages. this work, we propose new DC-DC converter that privileges region through extension enabling operation. fact, proposed here allows below even with 0.6. We analysis, design, testing extended converter. tests were conducted illustrate characteristics Test results obtained using both simulation software laboratory prototype.
